لكلّ أمّة أعياد تفرح بها و ترتبط أعياد الأمّة بحوادث تاريخيّة مهمّة لها، مثل عيد الاستقبلال عند كلّ شعب فى العالم ، أو ترتبط بحوادث دينيّة مثل عيد ميلاد عيسى عليه السّلام لدى المسيحين. و عيد الهجرة و عيد مولد الرّسول و عيد الإسراء و المعراج ، عيد الفطر و عيد الأضحى لدى المسلمين ، و تكون هذه الأيّام عطلة قوميّة فى بلادنا. امّا عيد الفطر فيحتفل به المؤمنون بعد ان ينتهوامن صوم رمضان و يفرحوا بفطرهم، لقد جعل الله عيد الفطر فرصة لإظهار الشّعور با الشّكر لله على نعمة أداءالصّوم. ففي الصّوم إمساك عن الطّعام و الشّراب و إمساك عن النّفس، فإذا انتهى الصّائم من أداء فريضة الصّوم كا ملة وفرح فرحا بسبب أداء ركن عظيم من اركان الإسلام ، فهو فرح الانتصار على النّفس و فرح الطّاعة لله بأداءشريعته. و من مظاهر الفرح في عيد الفطر إدخال السّرور على الفقراء و المساكين بإعطائهم زكاة الفطر قبل صلاة العيد. وفي عيد الأضحى مشاركة للحجّاج في فرحتهم بنعمة الله ، وهي استطاعتهم تلبية لدعوة الله سبحانه إلى حجّ بيته الحرم . و فى عيد الأضحى جمع النّاس على لسان واحد، و على شعور واحد، وعلى كلمة واحدة ، بعضهم يذهب إلى مكّة و يلبّى يقول: ( لبّيك اللّهمّ لبّيك...) و بعضهم يتّجه في صلاته ويكبّر يقول: ( الله أكبر .الله اكبر ) و من السّنّة أيّام عيد لأضحى ذبح الأضحية و توزيع لحومها على المحتاجين إليها.
يذكر المسلمون فى هذا العيد قصّة أبراهيم و ابنه إسماعيل عليها السّلام. إبراهيم الّذي رأى في المنام أنّه يذبح ابنه، فيقول له: " يَبُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَى فِى الْمَنَامِ أَنِّى أَذْبَحُكَ فَانْظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَى " فيقول إسماعيل " قَالَ يَأَ بَتِ افْعَلْ مَاتُؤْمَرُ سَتَجَدُنِى إِنْ شَاءَللهُ مِنَ الصَّبِرِيْنَ . أطاع إسماعيل أباه و أوشك الأب أن يذبح ابنه طاعةلله ، ففداه الله بذبح عظيم.
و مازال المسلمون مقبلين من كلّ مكان إلى هذه الأرض الطّيبة. و قد كان حجّهم شاقّا و أصبح اليوم سهلا. فلا عجب أن تشهد هذه الأرض المباركة تلك الجموع العظيمة المؤمنة الّتي تأتي إليها من كلّ بلاد الدّنيا. و لا عجب أن تفيض هذه الأرض المباركة بالخير الكثير,.
لذا فا لأعياد الإسلاميّة أيّام سرور شامل، يعمّ السّرور أبناء المجتمع المسلم جميعا أغنياءهم و فقراءهم ، كبارهم و صغارهم. و هكذا تصبح الأعياد في الإسلام لحظات يتقرّب بها المسلم إلى الله ، كما تصبح فرصا تساعد على تقوية الصّلات بين النّاس ، في هذه الفرص يظهر اتّعاون ة التّكافل الإجتماعيّ بصورة كاملة ، و فيها يتبادل النّاس التّهاني و الزّيارات، و فيها يلبسون ثيابهم الجميلة و يأ كلون من طيّببات ما رز قهم ربّهم. و بهذا يتّصل الإنسان بربّه عن طريق العبادة و عن طريقة المحبّة و الإخاء.
